I will never stop singing praises about the CurrentBody LED Series Face Masks. It’s my most used beauty device by far, and has traveled the world with me since I got it. So when CurrentBody announced their new LED Light Therapy Panel with blue light therapy and two power modes, I was ecstatic. I’ve had such a consistently good experience with the LED Face Mask over the years (see the before & afters if you don’t believe me) so I knew that this new panel would not disappoint. Time to level up my anti-aging game!
Fast forward 5 weeks to today. The anti-aging level up didn’t quite happen the way I pictured, but my post workout recovery and battle with general inflammation? Major wins!
Overview
What is it
A blue and red LED light therapy panel for advanced anti-aging, skin clearing and targeted recovery using 4 clinically proven wavelengths.
Available for
$1099.99 on CurrentBody. Use code GEEKY for 10% off!
Wavelengths
415nm (blue light), 633nm (red light), 830nm (near-infrared light), and 1072nm (deep near-infrared light) with a total of 136 LED bulbs with 4 chips each.
Irradiance
Low mode: 30mW/cm2 for anti-aging (same as their S2 mask), 44mW/cm2 for clearing (same as their acne mask)
High mode: 85mW/cm2 for anti-aging, 65mW/cm2 for clearing
Fluence
18 J/cm2 for anti-aging, 26.4 J/cm2 for clearing
Size & Fit
The panel itself measures 98x152mm, and is flexible, but feels more rigid than the neck mask. You can gently mold it to fit different parts of your body, or place it on the stand when using it on high mode. There are also 2 different length body straps help attach the panel.
Treatment Time
10-20 minutes depending on the mode, 3-5 times a week. I typically using mine post workout and 3 times a week on my abdomen to reduce inflammation since I have endometriosis.
Pain Level & Downtime
None
Charge Hold
If I use high mode, I get about 4 uses before I need to recharge. On low mode I can last up to 2 weeks.

Usage Experience
On my face
My original goal was to test the CurrentBody LED Panel in anti-aging high mode and see how the results compared to the Series 2 mask. Turns out patience was not my strong suit and I struggled to fit the longer 20 minute sessions in my routine.

With the mask I could multitask – read, be on my phone, play with my toddler (he finds the mask hilarious which is a bonus), cook, even clean. Not so much with the panel.
Now the new clearing mode is a great bonus if you deal with mild to moderate acne. I can’t remember the last time I had a pimple, so I couldn’t test it myself, but fair warning: it is much brighter than the anti-aging mode, so you definitely need the protective eye goggles here.
On my body
Not ready to give up, I decided it was time to make like Ross and pivot, and that’s when things got interesting.

Years ago when I was going through IVF, one of the recommendations to improve success rates was red light therapy. Back then I only had my Series 1 LED Face Mask, so I put that on my stomach and did a session every night. Fast forward 10 months later, my son was born.
So I’m not saying red light therapy = successful IVF, but there have been several promising studies showing that it can help. More on that in the geeky details below if you’re curious.
Now I’m one and done, so not trying for baby #2, but I do have endometriosis and extremely painful periods, so I decided to test if the panel could help reduce inflammation and pain instead.
And what do you know, my period didn’t come with a vengeance this time. It was still uncomfortable, but a noticeable improvement from the typical debilitating pain. And using it was super easy too! Granted I couldn’t move around, but at least I could still work, read, or be on my phone, just as long as I was sitting or lying down.

I’ve also used the panel on my muscles when they were sore after working out and felt that I seemed to recover quicker. The difference wasn’t as noticeable as the period pain, but still worth mentioning.
I also had my husband try the panel to help with post-workout muscle recovery, and he also noted that it seems to help. He especially enjoyed how nice it was to just lounge there while the panel did its work, and I couldn’t agree more! I can see this becoming a regular part of both of our workout routines.
Body Session Details
For period pain and inflammation: Low anti-aging mode on my abdomen every other night. If I’ve already used the panel on my abdomen as part of my post-workout session, I’ll skip this at night.
For post-workout recovery: Low anti-aging mode on the achy muscles (usually abdomen or back) about 30 minutes after working out.
On my scalp
Yes CurrentBody has a Hair Growth Helmet already, but I found that I could create a makeshift “helmet” by gently molding the panel to my head.

Yes it looks a little ridiculous, I don’t get the exact same coverage (maybe 80%), and I have to keep my head still otherwise it’ll slide off, but I also saved $859. At this point I’m just amazed at how versatile the panel is.
Note: The wavelength of the Hair Growth Helmet (660nm) is slightly different from the LED Panel. However, related studies on red light for hair growth used 620-660nm, so the panel should still deliver similar results.
Geeky Details: Blue Light and More Red Light Benefits
First let’s talk blue light therapy. It’s very effective in treating inflammatory acne, specifically with the 415nm wavelengths which targets the bacterium P. Acnes. Clearing mode pairs this with the 633nm wavelength for treating the actual inflammation, a double whammy 1.
Note: blue light does not work on whiteheads or blackheads. Sorry 🙁
Note 2: it can also cause temporary hyperpigmentation on darker skin tones, so do a test first!
Now onto the more exciting red light benefits, which I know I’ve talked about in multiple posts, but today I want to focus on non-skincare related benefits that I’ve personally experienced as well:
Post-Workout Recovery
- Reduces Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness – Helps minimize muscle soreness and tenderness after intense exercise 2
- Lowers Muscle Damage Markers – Decreases blood indicators of muscle damage like creatine kinase 3
Inflammation & Pain Management
- Calms Systemic Inflammation – Down-regulates pro-inflammatory pathways to speed up tissue repair.
- Reduces Period Pain (Dysmenorrhea) – Multiple studies showed significantly lower menstrual pain scores compared to the placebo group 4 5
Fertility & Reproductive Support
- Boosts IVF & Pregnancy Rates – Rejuvenates cellular energy (ATP) in egg cells to improve live birth outcomes 6
- Improves Pelvic Blood Flow – The 830nm wavelengths helps improve uterine circulation and endometrial lining health 7
- Helps Increase Sperm Motility – A study found all wavelengths of red light beneficial to increasing sperm motility, which can help improve fertility rate 8

LED Panel vs LED Face Mask
This highly depends on your goals. Get the LED Series 2 Face Mask if you:
- Want to focus on anti-aging for the face.
- Value efficiency and want a product that’s easy to use.
- Have a tighter budget (in that case you can even consider the Series 1).
Buy the new LED Full Body Light Therapy Panel if you:
- Want something that works for the whole body, especially in regards to fertility, post-workout recovery, or pain management.
- Don’t mind committing 10-20 minutes of quiet time when using the panel.
- Deal with occasional mild to moderate breakouts.
From a value perspective, you’ll get more bang for your buck with the panel. You still get the same anti-aging benefits of the mask, but now you can use it anywhere on your body, though I definitely found it easier to use on the body than the face.
As with the face mask, the LED Panel also is Veritace® certified, which means each product has been tested for quality and to ensure it delivers the expected results.

Final Verdict
Pros
- Exceptionally well designed and easy to use on all areas of the body
- Added blue light benefits for mild to moderate acne
- Extremely versatile and can potentially replace all other LED products
Cons
- Not as convenient as the face mask if you prefer to multitask
- Charge doesn’t last as long in high power mode
Scores & Summary

- Comfort Level
- Ease of Use
